Summary:
This landscape and garden renovation was designed to complement and extend the architectural character of the Hollingsworth-designed home in West Vancouver, seamlessly blending interior spaces with the outdoors. The project was driven by the need to address site construction along the west side of the property, where a new boundary was defined through terraced planting beds, retaining walls, and a gently stepping staircase that negotiates the varying elevations.
The design bridges existing outdoor features with new interventions, including a refined circulation path, floating feature staircase, outdoor kitchen, and custom water feature. Together, these elements shape the west edge of the property, providing a new structure edge to enjoy the view while enhancing a sense of timelessness, and tranquility.
On the east side, the restoration of the forested landscape creates a lush, natural backdrop that enriches views from the home, introduces depth and texture, and strengthens the connection between the built environment and its surroundings. With every aspect carefully considered, the result is a refreshed, harmonious landscape that feels as though it has always belonged in this lush, full setting.
